With a brief to create a kitchen that would be the central focal point within the home, DJ’s Kitchens set about creating a warm and inviting space.
With Japanese cuisine in mind, the owners chose a curved island complete with teppanyaki bar. The island is a feature of the space with its stunning Raven CaesarStone benchtop. An integrated sleek Global Food Equipment Teppanyaki hot plate means the owners are able to steer away from the stock-standard Sunday roast and host dinner parties with a difference.
As the real hub of the home, the kitchen’s layout ensures everyone can sit comfortably around the bench and enjoy a relaxing meal. The well-thought out space also includes an island in the centre of the room solely dedicated to food preparation. “The different work zones create a lovely flow throughout the space”, says a DJ’s Kitchens representative.
Maximising storage was one of the main design considerations. The overhead cupboards are extremely roomy and are finished in two-pack with polyurethane to match the tiled floors and walls. The stainless-steel Kethy BIELLA handles and Grey Starphire glass add to the kitchen’s contemporary appeal.
Special drawers for utensils and appliances have also been incorporated into the design, keeping the benchtops clutter-free and helping to creating a neat and tidy work space that would be right at home in a bustling Japanese restaurant!
